Every child is a unique and precious little human who sometimes can exhibit behaviors that are overwhelming. If you find yourself exhausted, stressed, frustrated or confused, you are not alone. Like many parents you must be ready for some professional guidance. At Azula, we specialize in assessing and treating behavior issues by using Applied Behavior Analysis therapy. Whether it’s literacy, sleep training, potty training, or behavior problems. We can help tackle those difficult barriers for you. Our services are home-based, community-based, school-based or virtual and together we can make changes that are suitable and sustainable for all involved.
What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)?
ABA is an evidence-based therapy used to change behavior by adjusting events or reactions that happen before and after a behavior. It’s a scientific approach that reduces maladaptive behaviors, increases replacement behavior, and teaches new skills. At Azula, our kiddos range from 18 months to 13 years old and we focus on positive interactions while using the child’s motivation to work on goals.
Our approach for a child receiving ABA therapy is to give a large amount of positive reinforcement with an attempt to create an encouraging and constructive learning environment. During treatment a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will assess your child, identify goals, create an intervention, measure behavior, monitor progress, plan for generalization then reassess to identify new goals. Additionally, parent training and collaboration between other professionals is highly encouraged in order create a successful environment for your child.
